If you have made the decision to have underfloor heating in either a house you are building or renovating, then the next choice is to decide whether to install it yourself or get some professionals to do it for you.
Whilst it is possible to install it yourself with no prior experience, it is not really to be recommended, especially with more complex water systems. Using underfloor heating installers will ensure that you get a job well done for you.
When choosing an installer, it is best to ask a number of questions, fully explaining what it is that you want from the system. They will be able to advice you and point you in the direction of what to choose, especially when it comes between electric and water systems.
You will also need to find out what sort of warranty they will offer the system, and if the contract would cover any repairs, and if so, for how many years. A heating system badly installed can prove costly, so these things need to be discussed before work commences.
If you are living in the house where the system is to be installed, also ask how long a room will be out of commission for, and if the water or electric would need to be switched off for any length of time. After that, sit back, relax, and leave it to an installer to do for you!
